A Mini Moment With Alexis Gonzalez

A Mini Moment With Alexis Gonzalez

Miss Grass

1. How do you identify, and how do you describe the energy you bring into a space?

I identify as non-binary—and also as a musician, a dabtender, and a deeply feeling human. I move through the world with a lot of fluidity, both in how I express myself and how I connect with others. The energy I bring is colorful, joyful, and a little silly. I aim to be affable—someone who makes people feel safe, seen, and relaxed. Whether I’m rolling a blunt, queuing up a dab, or just offering presence, I try to make space for softness and connection.

2. What’s something that’s bringing you joy or grounding you right now?

My one-year-old kittenager, Gizmo. He’s pure serotonin. When I’m zoned out or doomscrolling, he’ll jump on my chest out of nowhere and start purring like a tiny motor. He reminds me to be present. To pause. To come back to love—which really feels like the center of everything.

3. What does Pride mean to you—this year, in this moment?

This year, Pride feels quieter. More reflective. It’s not always a party—sometimes it’s survival. Sometimes it’s healing. For me, Pride means existing as my full self without shrinking. It’s honoring our collective resilience, while also choosing joy, softness, and rest. Pride is presence. Intention. Care.

4. What role does cannabis play in your life or creative process?

Cannabis is medicine for me. I use it with intention—it helps regulate my nervous system, especially after performing or creating. It’s less about getting high to create and more about coming down gently after being vulnerable. It softens the landing. It helps me come home to myself.

5. What rituals help you feel connected to your queerness or your community?

Little rituals mean a lot—rolling a blunt with care, listening to healing frequencies, or laughing with people who just get it. My queerness lives in those moments—in the creativity, the fluidity, the tenderness. I also stay connected through my work as a dabtender. It’s more than a job—it’s a way to create affirming, joyful spaces where people can just be.

6. How does your queerness inform your creativity, work, or perspective on the world?

Queerness shapes how I move, how I listen, how I show up. It’s taught me to trust what’s felt more than what’s seen. In my work as @thequeertender, I try to create spaces that are soft and intentional, not performative. Cannabis culture can be layered—I try to meet people where they are, and offer presence instead of pressure.

7. Are you Team Lift Up or Team Wind Down right now—and when’s your favorite time to indulge?

I’m Team Wind Down, fully. I used to chase the lift, but now I know my body needs decompression. A gummy or a few dabs at night helps ease my back spasms and quiet my nervous system. It lets me actually rest, not just crash.

8. What’s your dream sesh: the setting, the vibe, the people (or solitude)?

Picture this: a reimagined old-school movie theater with cozy booths instead of rows. Small groups watching cult classics, passing joints, and laughing. There's a grassy patio with blankets under the stars. Come solo or with your chosen fam—everyone feels at home. Cozy, inclusive, intentional. The kind of space where you can finally exhale.

9. Describe your high self in three words.

Giggly. Goofy. Relaxed.
